Supporting students facing hardship

Project Image

Gaining a place at Manchester is a dream come true. But sadly, unexpected financial hardship can prevent talented people from being able to complete their studies.

Over the past few years, more students than ever have needed emergency support. The Covid-19 pandemic and rising cost of living have left many students with money worries. Currently, the conflict in Ukraine is having a significant impact on Ukrainian, Russian and Belarusian members of our community.

Your gift today will help provide emergency grants for students facing financial hardship, by increasing the funds available in our Living Cost Support Fund.

You'll help grow the support available to students in urgent need across the University - including those facing hardship due to the war in Ukraine.

Every penny you give will go directly to supporting students who might otherwise find it impossible to continue their education. Thank you.

The Living Cost Support Fund forms part of the support available to students affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. You can read more about the University's measures to support students and academics from conflict zones here.
