Where will my donation go?

Gifts to Manchester will help the brightest people fulfil their potential, regardless of their background. And they’ll help our researchers make new discoveries and breakthroughs to improve our world.

Can I see my gift on this website?

Yes! If you’ve chosen not to make your gift anonymous, you can take a look at the Donor Wall to see your name.

If you opted for your gift to be anonymous and have changed your mind, just email us at supporters@manchester.ac.uk and we’ll happily add your name to the Donor Wall.

How can I make my gift?

If you are able to, please make your gift online using this website. It’s quick, easy and secure, and your donation will be added to our running total right away. We’ll acknowledge your gift as soon as we receive it.

If you’re not able to donate online, you can send us a cheque made payable to ‘The University of Manchester’. Your cheque will be gratefully received, but it may take us a little longer than normal to process your gift and send an acknowledgement. We hope you’ll understand.

Cheques should be sent to Division of Development and Alumni Relations, The University of Manchester, Oxford Road, Manchester M13 9PL. Please don’t forget to include your details so we know who to thank!

For any queries, please contact us at supporters@manchester.ac.uk.

Will my gift be acknowledged?

Yes. When you make your gift online, you’ll receive an email acknowledgement to let you know that your donation has been successfully processed. If you’re a UK tax-payer wishing to claim tax relief on your donation, this can also act as a receipt for tax purposes.

Later on, we’ll get in touch to let you know how your gift is being put to good use.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a tax relief available to UK registered charities, and exempt charities like The University of Manchester. It boosts gifts by 25%. For your gift to qualify, you must be a UK taxpayer. We’ll use the reclaimed tax to add to your donation and support even more students and research.

When you make a gift, we will ask you for all the details required. We will then claim back the Gift Aid tax relief – there’s nothing else you need to do.

Where will my gift make the most difference?

All of the projects that you’ll see on this website are a priority for the University. By making a gift to any one of them, you’ll be making the world of difference.

You can also choose to direct your gift directly to where it’s needed most. By doing this, you’ll help us respond to new challenges and make sure that no cause is forgotten about.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. All payments through this University of Manchester giving website will be securely processed by Stripe: www.stripe.com/gb/privacy.
